When you were buying your home, you did have an option for a garage keyless entry, but it was a bit pricey. You can get the same setup with a few minutes of your time and a $50 (at the time of this post) purchase from Amazon.com. Here’s the Keypad that I successfully setup for our garage door: https://a.co/d/5glSc7s.
Once you have your keypad, here are the easy steps to set it up:
- On the back of your garage door opener, press and release the LEARN button on the garage door opener (see picture below). The LED will light up.
- Now on your new keypad, enter a 4-digit PIN of your choice on your new keypad.
- Press the ENTER button on the keypad until the opener light bulb blinks or you hear two clicks.
- Test by keying in the PIN you just programmed and pressing the ENTER button on the keypad.
