We just wrapped up our second walk-through of the Elk Grove Esplanade Lodge, and the transformation is incredible! Now that we’re past the framing stage, you can really feel the scale of this 20,000-square-foot facility. The “wow factor” is officially taking shape—highlighted by a massive 8,000-square-foot resort pool that is actually larger than many of the home sites in the community!
A First Look at the Lifestyle Wing
The tour took us through the heart of the new Lodge, showcasing the lifestyle and wellness spaces designed to keep the community active:
-
Fitness & Wellness: We explored the dedicated fitness wing, which will feature Techno Gym equipment and a flexible movement studio with a retractable wall for everything from high-intensity classes to yoga.
-
The Barrel House Bistro: The restaurant and bar area is going to be a major social hub. We got a look at the “scissor-up” windows that connect the indoor bar directly to the outdoor lounge, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor vibe.
-
Games & Tech: The State Line Game Room is coming together beautifully with its Truckee-inspired tin ceilings. It’s going to be the go-to spot for poker, billiards, and the much-anticipated VR Golf Simulator.
Thoughtful Design & Connectivity
The team shared some fantastic insights into the “why” behind the design. We learned about the mesh Wi-Fi system that will cover the entire six-acre site (perfect for streaming by the pool!) and the climate-controlled outdoor patio equipped with heaters and misters for year-round comfort. They’ve even thought about the small stuff, like the dedicated “dog wash” station and separate laundry facilities to keep those poolside towels fresh and fluffy.
The Home Stretch
It was a great opportunity to see how these spaces will eventually host our community events and daily hangouts. Everything is currently on track, with the team targeting an opening date of May 25th.
That’s just about four short months away, and after seeing the progress firsthand, we can’t wait to dive in!
Here are some of the video jump points:
-
Scale and Scope: The building spans roughly 16,000 sq. ft. of interior space, with about 20,000 sq. ft. under the roof [01:02]. The entire amenity site sits on approximately 6 acres [01:09].
-
Connectivity: The facility is equipped with a mesh Wi-Fi system, allowing for seamless roaming between indoor and outdoor spaces without dropping the signal [40:32].
-
Climate Control: The outdoor lounge features integrated space heaters and a misting curtain along the perimeter to maintain comfort for about three seasons of the year [22:05], [22:24].
-
Maintenance Strategy: A dedicated on-site laundry facility includes separate washers and dryers for gym/pool towels and dog park towels to prevent cross-contamination [11:33].
Wellness & Fitness Wing
-
Techno Gym Partnership: The fitness center is outfitted with Techno Gym equipment and includes a “Wellness Checkup” assessment tool for personal trainers to establish baselines for members [05:09], [05:42].
-
Movement Studio: A versatile performance space includes a partition wall that can split the room for simultaneous classes (e.g., high-intensity training in one half and mind-body/yoga in the other) [06:13].
-
Spa-Style Locker Rooms: Rather than a standard gym layout, these feature private changing rooms with louvered wood doors, built-in benches, and back-lit mirrors [10:01], [10:37].
The “Resort” Pool & Grounds
-
Pool Specs: At 8,000 sq. ft. of water surface, the pool is significantly larger than the average home site in the community [13:26]. It is designed as a true 25-yard length for lap swimming [45:31].
-
Zoning: The pool is divided into two quadrants: the right side features a zero-entry (beach entry) for family and grandchildren, while the left side is reserved for adults [18:36], [42:46].
-
Event Lawn: A large synthetic turf lawn in the back is designed for year-round programming, including concerts and private parties, featuring vehicular access for food trucks and equipment [15:28], [15:46].
Dining & Social Spaces
-
Barrel House Bistro & Tap: This dual-purpose space operates as a cafe in the mornings (8:00 AM – 12:00 PM) for espresso and light bites, transitioning into a full-service restaurant and bar for lunch and dinner [24:47], [25:20].
-
Indoor-Outdoor Bar: The bar features “scissor-up” windows that open vertically to serve residents on the outdoor lounge patio [21:42], [23:27].
-
State Line Game Room: This “nerd-friendly” social hub includes a golf simulator, pool table, shuffleboard, and a dedicated card/poker space with a Truckee-inspired tin ceiling [33:53], [34:54].
